Wauree Saverance was born April 5, 1919 to Ivy and Willie Bates in Ballinger, Texas. She passed away on December 5, 2013 in Childress, Texas. She was raised in Coleman County. Waurree was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church.
Wauree married Randolph Saverance on February 29, 1936, they had 5 children.
After Wauree retired from being a hair dresser she and Randolph loved to travel with friends and family, They loved to go boating, fishing, and riding four wheelers on the Coleman Lake where they lived in the summer in their cabin which they built themselves. They moved to Clyde, Texas and lived there for 13 years before moving to Childress, Texas in 2000. Wauree loved to garden and work in her yard. In 2002 she won the Beautiful Yard Award for her lovely flowers and garden.
She is survived by four children: Shirley and husband Robert Johnson, Childress, Texas, Patsy and husband Lewis Reyher, Tell, Texas, Peggy and husband Gene Bland, Baird, Texas, Randall and wife Georgene Saverance, San Angelo, Texas fourteen grandchildren twentynine great grandchildren twelve great great grandchildren one sister Wanda Cummings, of Grapevine and one sisterinlaw, Zelam Bates of Lubbock, Texas. She also had many nieces and nephews and a host of close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph daughter, Nancy Ward her parents, Willie and Ivy Bates one brother, Floyd Bates two sisters, Lorena Sumners of Abilene, Texas and Pearl Palmer of Grapevine, Texas.
She was a wonderful wife, Mother, and Grandmommy. She loved her family and was proud of them.
Her funeral service will be held at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 2:00 PM, officiated by Reverend George Price, DS. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM prior to the service on Tuesday.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Childress Healthcare Center for taking such wonderful care of their mother through the years.
