William Samuel Slatton, beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2023, at the age of 75. He was born on April 17, 1948, in Abilene, Texas. A memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 12, 2023 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South.
Sam was a man of many talents and passions. He attended Cisco High School where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Known for his impeccable appearance, Sam never had a hair out of place. His attention to detail extended to every aspect of his life. Nature was Sam's sanctuary, and he found great joy in outdoor activities. Fishing was one of his favorite hobbies; the calmness of the water brought him serenity and tranquility. He also took pleasure in taking care of his yard. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and one of the best son in laws ever. The legacy of love he leaves behind will be felt for generations to come.
Sam is preceded in death by his parents William Murphy Slatton and Betty Lois Knuckles.
Sam leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by the love of his life, Kalena Slatton; his children, Brit Slatton and spouse of Midland, Cody Slatton and spouse of View, Delma Torres of Abilene; ten grandchildren; his sister, Connie Sue McLaughin of Abilene; his brother, Stanley Wayne Slatton of Abilene; bonus children, Amanda Hertrick, Stephanie Hertrick, and Brandi Hertrick of Abilene, mother-in-law Arlene Randolph of Andrews, Tx; and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
