Willie Jones

Willie Mae Jones, 86, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009 in Abilene. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon on Friday, April 24th at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South. Her funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Jones was born on February 9, 1923 in Eufaula, Oklahoma the daughter of Jesse M. Brown and Audry Belle Boatmun Brown. She married Goldsmith M. Goldie Jones on January 3, 1942 in Hope, Arkansas and throughout their marriage, they lived in various places while both working in Civil Service. Willie Mae enjoyed going to thrift stores and she was always thrilled when she found a good bargain. She loved to talk and took pride in having a neat house and yard.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorris Hueter of Abilene and Donna Jones of Fresno, California; one son, Robert Jerry Jones of Los Banos, California; two sisters, Della Kirby and Utha Faye Fritz both of Owasso, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Lynda Lee, Barbara Masterson, Nicole Ryan, Steven Wheeler, Jimmy King, Kevin Jones, Garrett Jones, Kari Hueter and Kevin Hueter; 13 great grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

Her husband, a brother, Dyton Brown and sister, Juanita Owens preceded her in death.
