Willie Mendoza Jr.

Willie Mendoza Jr., 67, loving father and grandfather, died Sunday, November 23, 2008 at an Abilene hospital. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 26th at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park. Rosary will be at 6:00 PM with Prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM on Tuesday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South.

Mr. Mendoza was born in Abilene on February 15, 1941 the son of Willie Mendoza Sr. and Eva Juarez Mendoza. He married Gloria Rodriquez on May 14, 1966 in Abilene and had worked for AISD for over twenty years before retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Rosalinda Mendoza and Leticia Mendoza Benavides of Abilene; three sons, Raul Mendoza and wife Joanna of Winters, Willie Leva of Abilene and Tony Leva; five brothers, Albert, Bernabi, Johnny and Alex all of Abilene, and Raymond of Brownwood; 14 grandchildren, Ashley Mendoza, Andy Arredondo, Joseph Benavides, Donna Mendoza, Michael Arredondo, Laura Mendoza, Breanna Benavides, Desiree Mendoza, Brittany Benavides, Alyssa DeLeon, Marcello Benavides, Jasmine, Destiny, and Marissa Mendoza and one great grandchild, David McCutchen.

His parents and his wife preceded him in death.
