Funeral service will be 10 AM, Saturday, April 11, 2015 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

He was born May 27, 1927 in May, TX to Thomas F. Stewart and Electa May Blanton Stewart. He grew up in and around the Brown County areas. Mr. Stewart married Johnnie Marie Stewart on December 26, 1951 in Brownwood, TX. They had three children, Stepson, Charles Hill Jr.; daughters, Tenny Crider, and Sharon Bellah. Z.T. and Johnnie moved to Abilene in the late 1950's where they lived most of their lives.

Mr. Stewart was a professional truck driver and operated petroleum and jet fuel trucks. After 43 years of driving he retired from Pride refinery in 1994 with no accidents or driving violations. Upon retiring Z.T. found a new calling in buying and selling houses. During this time he made many lasting friendships.
Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and May Stewart; his wife, Johnnie Brummett Stewart; his step-son, Charles Hill Jr; three brothers, Horace Blanton of Illinois; Melvin Stewart of Florence TX, Roy Dale Stewart of Victoria, TX; one sister, Ione Stewart Rutledge.

He has left behind his two daughters, Tenny Crider (Jeffery) of Abilene, TX, Sharon Bellah (Dennis) of Pilot Point, TX; his granddaughters, who he always enjoyed watching as they were growing up, Shannon Davis (Shane) of Deephaven, Minnesota and Meshell Bellah of Denton, TX. He also leaves behind his little buddy, great-grandson, Ayden Davis.

The family would like to thank the staff of Chisholm Place his assisted living home. They were so kind, compassionate and caring of his needs. He really thought of it as his home because they were like his family. He made several friends while living there. We would also like to thank his caring staff at Silver Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation where he spent his final days. The kindness shown will always be remembered.

In lieu of flowers the family request that charitable gifts be sent to the donor's favorite foundation.
